Bye, Bye Hawaii

So it has been a couple of months since we left Hawaii and sometimes it feels like living there was a dream. Sometimes I still can't beleive that I was blessed enough to live in such a beautiful place for 6 1/2 years. Hawaii will forever be in my heart and I may end up back there someday. I met some amazing people who will forever be in my life. I will always cherish the memories I have from living there.

It has been hard to get used to being back on the mainland, but I am happy to be back and excited to start a new adventure:-)

What's been going on.....

So lately I have been really busy with work and school. I only have 3 more classes left and then I have to student teach. I am excited about being done and look forward to becoming a teacher. Work has been good, a little crazy, because I am working for music producers and have never worked in this type of busines before. I am learning a great deal and appreciate all the knowledge I am gaining. This job has allowed me to work in many outlets and I am grateful for that. I know that what I am learning now will be with me forever!

30

My boss gave me this beautiful lei for my birthday and it smelled amazing!!!

So when I was younger I always thought that turning 30 would be a big thing, because when you are young you always here people talking about, "when I am 30 I will be....." and if they are not that at 30 it seems as if it is the end of their world. I did not go through that, maybe that is because I am where I should be and doing what I should be doing. I never put limits on myself as far as being in a certain place at a certain age. I just make sure to follow my dreams and live life to its fullest, that is what is important!

I look forward to the next 30!!!!

Life is precious

I have been thinking a lot about how precious life is and how we should never take anything for granted. Life is short and you never know what is going to happen and we should all feel blessed for each day we have.

Following your dreams and living the life you want is the most important thing. That is why I am happy that I am going back to school to get my masters in Education. I know that teaching is my true calling and I cannot wait until I can actually have my own classroom and start teaching. Having a job that you don't love is the worst thing ever and I should know. I know teaching will not be easy and I know I will struggle, but at least I will be doing something I love.

Each day is a blessing and whenever I am having a bad day, I remind myself of something my brother said to me once. He said, "if you were to put your problems in a bag with everyone else's problems, you would want your problems back". This statement always puts things into perspective for me. The older I get the more I realize that life is way too short to sweat the small stuff and sometimes things are beyond my control and I just have to deal with it and learn from it. Like it says in one of my favorite books, "Live and Unlearn".

Women

Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys dont want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

Life

So everything is going well and I really like my new job. I have been super busy with work and school and events for work on the weekends, but I am enjoying it and taking everything in. I love living here in Waikiki and am very happy that Josh and I decided to make the move here.

Of course life has its ups and downs, but in the end it's how you deal with what life throws at you. Everyday I grow more and learn more and that is what life is about. I am just staying happy and enjoying my life here on this beautiful island. One thing I know for sure is that dreams do come true and I will never stop dreaming!!!!

Natural Beauty

I love Waikiki and feel sooo blessed to be living here. These pics were taken from my family room window. I love waking up to sunrises and ending my day with the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen.
